100 Students from a High School of Technology and Computer Science in Burgas visit DISCOVERER
December 7, 2023DISCOVERER and Sofia Tech Park were the first hosts of the Face-to-Face meetings organized between the hosting sites, part of EuroHPC JU.
Representatives from the Hosting Entities of Vega Supercomputer (Slovenia) and Karolina Supercomputer (Czech Republic) and from EuroHPC JU had the privilege of exploring the facilities hosting the petascale DISCOVERER Supercomputer.
During the visit, a hybrid meeting was organised with all EuroHPC Hosting Entities, in presence of Milena Stoycheva, Bulgarian Minister of Innovation and Growth. Mrs Stoycheva highlighted the positioning of Bulgaria as an innovation hub in Southeast Europe, and emphasised the importance of supercomputers like DISCOVERER , as it plays a strategic role for innovation and the technological advancement in the area.
DISCOVERER Supercomputer, a EuroHPC petascale system, operational since October 2021, is supplied by Eviden and built on the BullSequana XH2000 platform. DISCOVERER boasts the impressive capability of executing 4.5 Petaflops – a staggering 4.5 million billion operations per second.
